Note: Only the Metrix Administrator can access the Edit Value Lists form. Most users can add new values for drop-down lists, unless those lists have been configured to not allow new entries. Drop-down lists that do not allow users to add values can only be changed by the Metrix Administrator. Standardization of information is one of the key reasons for using drop-down lists, and it is important to always check to see that a value, or an alternate spelling, is not already on the list before adding another value.

The Edit Value Lists form allows the Metrix Administrator to change the values in the Metrix drop-down lists. There are numerous drop-down lists appearing on virtually every Metrix form. Any drop-down list is editable.

Editing a Value List

You can specify whether you want to view only the standard Metrix value list or value lists that are used in custom Interactions or both by selecting the Standard, Custom, and All radio buttons. By default, Metrix will display all of the value lists.

  1. While on the Edit Value Lists form, select the value list you would like to edit in the Value List area.

Generally, the field name of the drop down you would like to edit on the form is the same as the name of the list in the window.

The values for that list type will appear in the Values in List area. These values can be edited by clicking on the value and typing in your edits. A new value can be added by typing in the blank field.

Warning
Use caution when changing values. Changing the values of a list can cause data inconsistencies. Do not change/delete a value if there are records that currently use that value. In such cases, we recommended that you add a new value rather than change an existing one.
